What would you do?

    Some employees may have no performance problems, but face personal problems in their lives. How would you respond to the scenario below?

    An employee tells you he is having severe money problems. His performance is satisfactory. He says if things get much worse, he will have file bankruptsy. What do you do as a supervisor
    1. Say nothing about the EAP, this is not a case for making a supevisor referral.
    2. Suggest he visit the EAP as a self-referral.
    3. Make a formal supervisor referral, his problem could affect the job eventually.
