Anti-Bullying Bill is Making Its Way Through the Hawaii Legislature.
It
was just reported yesterday in the Associated Press. A bi-partisan bill in the
Hawaii legislature intends to hold employers liable for bullying in the
workplace as a safety violation.
Bullying in the workplace will become subject to
workers' compensation. If the bill becomes law, it will be ground shaking for
other states. I thought you might want to read about.
Here's
the story.
This story is an argument for training. If you are a
business owner, manager, supervisor, human resources professional, or EAP...
what's your role?
In
light of this story, I thought I would send you part of last weeks Toolbox
message.
Note that one link launches the Bullying Prevention
below and the other is information only. The web course (good for ensuring
everyone gets the training)
can run on your own web site.
(PowerPoint, DVD, and Flash Movie are also
available.)

Workplace Course
Course Information
only.
In this course, I
inserted a Q/A test and printable handout for the learner. Your own handouts,
policy, etc. can also be inserted.
I
rate this course about about 20 minutes because of the test and handout, but
anyone can get through it in about 15 minutes.
The link above will take you to
the course. It is a solid proactive addition to your employee education library.
Frankly, I always like to
anticipate what management is going to ask me to do in the future and then do it
before they ask. It works better that way. I bet you think the same
way.
There is no linking or added
fees to this course, but you must use a password or hide the course from search
engines so everybody on the planet. Your web master can help with that part.
It's easy.
Note, this course is editable. I
can remove any frames in case you see something you don't want in it. I can add
frames as well and voice them.
Also, this is now available in
PowerPoint, DVD, Flash Movies files.
Take care. Call me if you have

Bullying in the Workplace Course (Preview)Bullying
in the workplace is a bigger scourge than sexual harassment. That's what
a lot of research is reporting. Most of us are not surprised. Few laws
address it. And training for prevention is sparse.
Imagine training all employees. Would it build awareness and reduce incidents and risk?
Try
this web course that you may want to own. I inserted a short Q/A test
and printable handout in it for employees to keep. I rate this course
about about 20 minutes because of the test and handout, but anyone can
get through it in about 15 minutes.
(LINK TO COURSE.)
The link above will take you to the course. It might be a good addition to your employee education library.
This
web course is a "platform independent". That means you own it, control
it, and it uploads to your own web server. (No linking or added fees,
but you must use a password or hide the course from search engines. Your
web master can do that pretty easily.)
Reducing
risk in this area may eventually become as important as sexual
harassment prevention training, even for companies with no policy yet.
Note,
this course is editable. I can remove any frames instantly in case you
see something that you don't want in it. It's just one click for me on
the software. I can add frames it as well with a professional voice.
There is less magic involved, but talk to me if you need that.)
Have a great weekend.
Feel free to send your comments. I evolve these products as I go, so feedback is good.
